Program Description

The Negotiating Budgets for Clinical Trials program is ideal for Clinical Research Coordinators, Clinical Investigators, Sponsors, CROs, SMOs and/or grant managers.  This program will help provide the necessary skills to analyze, construct, and negotiate clinical trial budgets that will later be proposed to investigational sites.

Program Objectives

  • Develop clinical study budgets
  • Negotiate the appropriate compensation for research trials at your site
  • Critically analyze protocols with regard to budget issues
  • Identify the hidden costs of doing a clinical trial
  • Create budget flow sheets

Kimberly Irvine

Kimberly Irvine is the Executive Vice President of Operations at the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York where her responsibilities include coordinating and implementing business processes that enhance BRANY’s effectiveness and efficiency. Prior to her promotion to VP of Operations at BRANY, Kimberly was the Director of the Regulatory Department where her primary responsibilities were in Contract and Budget Negotiations.

Kimberly began her career in Healthcare Administration at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and subsequently obtained a position as Business Manager for the Department of Medicine, at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Kimberly is also an author of a best selling book on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) called “Ensuring a HIPAA-Compliant Informed Consent Process.” She is a graduate with honors of St. John's University in Health Care Administration and has 15 years experience in Health Care Finance.
