Parkinson’s Disease

People with Parkinson’s disease are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by New York University School of Medicine.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are between the ages of 22 and 75
  • Have a diagnosis of bilateral (two sided) idiopathic PD with the presence of at least 2 of the following: resting tremor, rigidity, or bradykinesia

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have a history of drug or alcohol abuse
  • Have any intracranial abnormality (unusual head) medical condition that would contraindicate DBS surgery
  • Have a history of recurrent or unprovoked seizures
  • Have any history of hemorrhagic stroke
