Higher-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome

People with Higher-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Montefiore Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are a male or female at least 18 years of age
• Are RARA-positive
• Are newly diagnosed with HR-MDS
• Have adequate organ function

You may NOT participate in this study if you:

• Are suitable for and agree to undergo allogeneic HSCT
• Have received prior treatment for MDS with any hypomethylating agent, chemotherapy (including lenalidomide), or allogeneic HSCT
• Are currently receiving treatment for a malignancy
• Have an active, life-threatening, or clinically-significant, uncontrolled systemic infection
• Have a known malabsorption syndrome or other condition that may impair absorption of study medication
• Have not adequately recovered from a major surgery within 4 weeks
• Have known immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, hepatitis B, or active HCV infection
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
