Migraine Prevention in Children

People with migraines are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Montefiore Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are a male or female subject aged ≥ 6 to <18 years • Have at least a 6 month history of migraine (with or without aura) consistent with a Diagnosis • Have Migraine attacks, on average, lasting 4 - 72 hours if untreated • Have adequate venous access for blood sampling • Have the ability to verbally distinguish migraine attacks from tension/cluster or other types of headaches You may NOT participate in this study if you: • Have a history of basilar migraine, cluster headaches, or hemiplegic migraine • Have a continuous migraine (defined as an unrelenting headache) within 1 month prior to Screening Visit • Have a history or diagnosis of complications of migraine • Have a confounding and clinically significant pain syndrome • Have has a history of cancer • Have had recent or planned surgery, requiring general anesthesia • Have known immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
