Severe Symptomatic Mitral Regurgitation

People with severe symptomatic mitral regurgitation are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by the Montefiore Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least ≥ 18 years of age
  • Have moderate-to-severe or severe symptomatic mitral regurgitation

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have currently implanted mitral valve
  • Have active gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding
  • Have Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Have anatomically prohibitive mitral annular calcification
  • Have evidence of new or untreated intracardiac mass or thrombus
  • Have prior transcatheter mitral valve procedure with device currently implanted
  • Have aortic valve disease requiring intervention or previous intervention within 90 days
  • Have moderate or greater tricuspid regurgitation with echocardiographic evidence
  • Have a history of bleeding diathesis or coagulopathy that precludes anticoagulation
  • Have untreated clinically significant coronary artery disease requiring revascularization
  • Have currently participating in an investigational drug or another device study
  • Are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to become pregnant
